AIDS (Acquired immune deficiency syndrome) is a disease caused by a virus called HIV (Human immunodeficiency virus). This changes the body’s immune system, exposing individuals to infections and diseases. HIV / AIDS is the most threatening pandemic in the whole world. It is one of the infectious diseases that has claimed lives of many individuals all over. This has been propagated by its means of transmission from one individual to the other. For this reason, many organizations have come up to look for ways of controlling it. In the year 2008, a study was conducted and dated the origin of HIV as to be between 1884 and 1924. Some of them wrote saying that the first occurrence of the virus was in central Africa in the Democratic Republic of Congo The main way through which HIV virus can pass from one individual to the other is through blood contamination with the infected blood (Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 2015). HIV virus can be transmitted from one individual to the other through certain body fluids namely blood, pre-seminal fluid, semen, rectal fluids, vaginal fluids and breast milk that comes from an infected person (Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS., World Bank, 2009). These fluids can only transmit the virus if they come into contact with a fresh wound, damaged tissue, mucous membrane or directly injected into the bloodstream. Some of the common ways through which HIV/AIDS is transmitted is through having unprotected sex with an infected person. Anal sex is the most risky way through which the virus can be transmitted.
